Agile Manifesto: Principle #1

In honour of the 20 year anniversary of the Agile Manifesto, each monthly blog this year will focus on one of the twelve principles.

Let's start at the top with Principle #1.

"Our highest priority is to satisfy the customer through early and continuous delivery of valuable software."

Even 20 years later, this principle still rings true. It probably requires little to no modification.

Although, some teams (possibly non-software teams) may argue that early and continuous delivery is not possible. You may see this with infrastructure or hardware teams. While they may not be able to deliver AS early and continuously as software teams, there are likely opportunities for drastic improvement. Incorporating techniques derived from DevOps can assist with that.

While there may be some debate on this principle, I think we can all agree that the highest priority should be to satisfy the customer.
